pomtastic pom poms

shoes: ASOS

I'm not much of a shoe person. I have flat feet and tendonitis, which makes most shoes painful, and I also have short legs and cankle issues, meaning that dainty shoes usually look hilarious.

I'd been lusting after a pair of pom pom shoes for AGES, but was worried that the ankle strap would become a cankle highlighter, and a pointy shoe would look ridiculous on my size 6 feet. Then these ASOS beauties hopped into my life, and I've never looked back.

Keep reading to see how I've styled these shoes in two different ways...

shirt: Lazy Oaf, jeans, Topshop

I'm one of those people who has a NIGHTMARE with jeans. I have a small waist and a big butt, and I'm also really paranoid about getting baggy knees. This is why I live in tights. Jeans are not worth it.

I do love these shoes with denim, though, as the ankle grazers really show off the shoes, especially paired with a quirky top for a unique look. Mom jeans would also be a great option with these shoes, especially if you tucked in a plain tee and added a statement necklace.

skirt: JW Anderson x Topshop, top: Topshop, necklace: I Love Crafty

Pom poms also work really well as part of a cute work outfit. I've added my JW Anderson x Topshop pencil skirt from a few years ago with a plain black top and mirrored parrot necklace. If you're an unlucky gal who has to wear business wear to work, a pair of unique shoes can add a great twist to a plain, smart outfit, or a suit.

This is the most dressed up I've felt in AAAGES, but I really loved wearing this outfit!

As usual, I couldn't resist matching my nails. This was a really easy look to create - I just used the gradient technique and a mustard, orange and navy. Although I'm always matching my nails to my outfit, I don't think I've ever matched my nails to my shoes before. Hello, new obsession!

I'm going to a wedding reception next weekend and I'll be wearing the poms with my cat party dress. Take a look at my Insta next weekend to see the result...

How would you style these shoes?
