Pretty Quirky Swatches and Review

Pretty Quirky is an indie polish brand based in the UK. I don't own any indie polishes but do love looking at the unique combinations that indie sellers are well-known for. When I found out that Pretty Quirky had released a new range, I decided to snap one up! I had a VERY difficult time only choosing one - they are all beautiful - but found out that as I was one of the first to buy from the range, I could pick a mini bottle for free. Hurray!

Shapes in the Clouds is a pale blue crelly with a variety of different sized pink, purple, yellow, blue and pink glitter. In this picture, I layered it with Chanel Nouvelle Vague. I think you could get away with a few coats of Shapes in the Clouds alone, but I am notoriously bad at working with pale colours, and needed to give myself a solid base. I applied two coats of Shapes in the Clouds, and then went back through and dotted a few extra pieces of glitter for a more even finish. I am in LOVE with this! It reminds me of the Water Babies and hot air balloon festivals. It's mystical and dreamy and the pastel blue is bang on trend for summer. It dried quickly and I had a lot less trouble than expected finding all the different glitters. I love how the base is at the exact opacity to remind me of hazy skies in summer when you can't see into the distance properly, or rippling water that obscures the rocks underneath. Major love for this one!!

I chose Milky Joe as the smaller size polish. This beauty is a white jelly base with varying sizes and shapes of neon blue, yellow, green, pink and purple glitters. I used two coats of Models Own Hypergel White Light and then two coats of Milky Joe over the top. I didn't need to do any glitter placement for this swatch; yes, it is THAT packed full of neon goodness! It reminds me of carnival confetti and summer festivals! It is very bright in the flesh, and got a lot of compliments at work wearing this! A few people wouldn't believe that it was only a polish and not a nail art design. As with Shapes in the Clouds, Milky Joe dried quickly and was very easy to work with.

Overall, I am very pleased that these polishes were my first ever venture into the indie world!
